The Department of Tourism in Davao Region (DOT-11) reported on Friday that the region welcomed 4.1 million tourists last year, generating PHP34.7 billion in tourism receipts.

At the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas event, DOT-11 Director Tanya Rabat-Tan cited the United States as the top foreign market, followed by China, Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, and Germany.

Tan highlighted the region’s diverse attractions, noting that 17 adventure sites were featured in the Davao Adventure Challenge.

“We will be more inclusive in the second season, offering easier adventure challenges,” she said.

In 2024, DOT-11 conducted 10 exhibits and expositions, seven business-to-business (B2B) activities, and engaged over 90 stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

The agency also facilitated 15 product updates and presentations, along with 15 local B2B and networking events.

Internationally, DOT-11 led the Davao Region Tourism Roadshow in Australia, hosting three product updates and two B2B events in Sydney and Melbourne.

For 2025, Tan announced plans for the Davao Adventure Challenge, Davao Dive Expo, and Davao Food and Wine Festival, aiming to further boost tourism in the region. (PNA)
